A system of temples and pagodas Thursday, 11/03/2011, 10:35

Wott Seray Pothi MenKol pagoda (former Hoa Binh pagoda)

It is in hamlet A, Hoa Binh township, Vinh Loi district. The pagoda was constructed by Mr. Mau (Ta Mau) in 1556 on the area of 55,966 sq.m.

It is constructed in a traditional architecture style of Khmer people: pillar-surrounding corridor, statues of Garada deity (Krul), Kay-no fairy bearing pagoda roof with her hands or wings and Maha krud magic bird cast with cement, tile roofed cover. It has a three-grade roof and each grade is divided into three different creases; the roof is on 600 slope while the middle grade is more sloping thus the roof seem to be mild and unanimous. Additionally, the inside pagoda is rather wide with stressed pillars creating airy and high space. Outside decorating drawings are diverse with different shapes of dragon, fairy, magic bird, etc., especially snakes of several heads featuring Khmer sculpture, plants, holy lotus shape in Brahmanism, and so on.
