Tan Hung communal house

Situated in village 3, ward 3, Bac Lieu town, the communal house is on 1.200 sq.m of surrounded area with 559.65 sq.m of architectonic acreage.

Since the early days of the village establishment, the local people set up the house with bamboo and leaves to worship Bon Canh tutelary god. The house is very wonder-working meaning “Whenever there is a request, there is a favourable response”. On January 8th 1853, Tan Hung communal house received the honourable conferment from King Tu Duc.

The local residents started consolidating the house late 1853, showing the impressiveness of the Southern communal house (architecture of temple with four pillars, revetment walls in the front and a rear building). After nearly 150 years, Tan Hung communal house has kept its initial architecture despite many repairs.
